During last night’s NXT tapings, Kevin Owens came out with the NXT Championship.
This could mean that Owens would defeat Finn Balor at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn to become the 1st ever 2 time NXT Champion. However, this is not confirmed as WWE could be playing an angle where Owens takes the title from Balor without winning it and this could be explained in a backstage promo which might be taped later to air on the WWE Network.
In a related news, former NXT Champion Neville and former NXT Tag Team Champion The Ascension returned to NXT TV. Ascension wrestled a match against Rhyno & Baron Corbin and lost. Neville was first involved in a tag team match where he teamed up with Solomon Crowe to face the team of Jason Jordan & Chad Gable, and later faced Kevin Owens.
Also, Sasha Banks came out with the NXT Women’s Title at the tapings and faced Gionna Daddio. This could mean she retains over Bayley at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, but nothing is confirmed.
