In the opening segment of tonight’s RAW, Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn interrupted The Judgment Day.
Sami issued a challenge to Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship for later in the show, which led to Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley accepting on Dirty Dom’s behalf.
During the match, the referee ejected Damian Priest & Ripley from ringside. During the ending moments of the match, Priest & Ripley beat up Kevin Owens and laid him out at the entrance area.
Sami was distracted by this. Dirty Dom took advantage and pinned Zayn to retain his Title. Owens was checked by the Doctors backstage.
According to WRKD Wrestling, Owens is legitimately injured:
“Kevin Owens has suffered a legitimate injury that is being used to advance the story. It is currently unclear how long he’ll be sidelined.”
By the looks of it, the Undisputed Tag Team Titles won’t be on the line at SummerSlam 2023 on August 5th.
We’ll keep you updated regarding the nature of this injury and how long The Prizefighter will be out of action.
