In the main event of this week’s episode of SmackDown, Edge defeated Sheamus in The Rated-R Superstar’s last hometown match in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

After the show went off air, IMPERIUM came out and surrounded the ring so that they could attack Edge. However, Drew McIntyre came out and made the save for the WWE Hall Of Famer.

Kevin Owens (who was out of action with a fractured rib) then returned and teamed up with Sami Zayn to defend the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship against Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.

Edge helped Owens and Zayn get the victory. After the match, Edge, McIntyre, Owens and Zayn celebrated to send the crowd home happy.

As we noted earlier, Edge said the following after SmackDown went off the air:

“What I can say is this is my last time in front of you all. I don’t think that I can make another full year here again for a match.

I’m just being honest with ya. But don’t let that be a downer… ’cause man what an experience you all gave me. I will never forget it. I will never forget it.

I don’t know what the future holds. I really don’t. I gotta sit home this week, lick my wounds, talk to my family and see what they want me to do.

But what I can say Toronto… is thank you!”
