WWF/WCW/AAA/CMLL/TNA veteran Konnan has undergone a double leg amputation and is currently going through a difficult rehabilitation process. In a show of support, WWE has paid every single cent of his medical bills.

On the latest episode of The Coach & Bro Show, Vince Russo shared the update with host Jonathan Coachman. Russo, who has known Konnan for many years, recently spoke with him on the phone. Russo said:

“I called Konnan yesterday. I didn’t talk to him long, man, because, you know, he’s very weak. He’s going through grueling rehabilitation, you know, learning how to cope with. I can’t even imagine that.” He added that Konnan “really, really sounded exhausted.”

What stood out most in the conversation was the news that WWE fully covered Konnan’s medical expenses. Russo revealed:

“Konnan said to me that the WWE has paid every single cent of his medical bills. ‘The WWE have paid every penny, and I was only working with them for a short time.’”

Coachman said: “Stop it… Hell yes. Thank you for bringing that up. That’s, tip of the cap to TKO, tip of the cap to Nick Khan and all those guys, because that’s, we’re talking hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not a million dollars.”

Russo estimated the costs even higher, saying: “Oh, Coach, I think well over a million dollars for something like that.”

Konnan had one leg amputated earlier. The second leg was removed more recently. He is now in rehabilitation, learning to adapt after losing both legs. Russo noted that Konnan had already been in rehabilitation for six months before the latest surgery.

Konnan is best known for his major run in WCW during the Monday Night Nitro era in the late 1990s. His connection to WWF/E was much shorter, where he appeared as the character Max Moon. More recently, he worked with WWE’s AAA promotion. Konnan was also a member of the nWo.
