In the main event of a recent episode of AEW Dynamite, The Golden Elite defeated The Blackpool Combat Club in a Blood & Guts Match.

Former NJPW World Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi made his AEW in-ring debut during this match.

Many fans criticized Kota’s performance and movement in this match, and some fans he moved like an old man.

Kota issued the following statement regarding his performance:

“I’m home. It’s my fault that I didn’t know thumbtacks and glass after all this time.

I have thin wrestling shoes, so it penetrated and it was just painful from the middle, and I ended up moving like an old man. I’m sorry!

Far from being unable to kick, both ankles were stiff. Life with a cane for the first time in my life. No, I’ll be cured tomorrow! That is Kota Ibushi!”

After the show went off the air, Ibushi took a bump on thumbtacks for no reason.

You can watch it below:

Below is a photo of his back after this:

Jim Cornette saw this and tweeted:

“THIS is the pretend play rassler all the AEW fans were salivating over? Another clown whose biggest fan is himself? Another garbage wrestler who falls into sharp sh*t? What a talent!”

ECW Veteran Justin Credible then replied:

“Why do this? You’re literally killing it moving forward. No wonder attendance has gone down considerably not only are they killing it on TV, they’re killing the towns.”

An indy referee then made the following joke:

“I heard he was fired from Disney World because he kept taking off his Mickey head so the kids could see he wasn’t a real mouse.”
