• In the opening match of Friday’s SmackDown, LA Knight defeated Andrade to retain the United States Championship.

During an interview backstage after the match, Knight said the following about the botch:
“Man, I’ll tell you what, Andrade, hell of a talent out there. But still, not enough to get you over the hump. I’ll tell you like this man, not every piece of your offense is going to go right. He’s seen it, I’ve seen it.
Hell, I didn’t make it to the top (rope). That is what happens when your legs are tired out there. It happens. But believe me my man, anybody walking, if one doesn’t get you, the other one will, and that is exactly what happened.”
• SmackDown wrestler Elton Price (of the Pretty Deadly tag team) and NXT interviewer Kelly Kincaid are celebrating the birth of their first child.
