As we all know, Austin downplayed the speculation of a possible match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 after his podcast with Paul Heyman on the WWE Network. The speculation started on Austin’s podcast with Paul Heyman on the WWE Network where Heyman asked Austin about facing Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 and Austin went into Promo mode.
Vince McMahon was reportedly not happy with how the podcast ended because Austin vs. Lesnar is not in their current WrestleMania 32 plans. Vince felt that creating major interest in something that’s not going to happen is bad for business.
There was a discussion between Vince & Austin after the podcast where Vince wanted Austin to address this story once, put it away & move on.
Triple H is interesting in Austin facing Lesnar but Vince McMahon wants Lesnar to face his old rival, The Rock. Brock Lesnar faced The Rock at SummerSlam 2002 & defeated him to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. They never had a re-match for the title.
