• Old School WWF Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WWF Veteran Al Snow (Real name: Allen Sarven) celebrates his 57th birthday today.

After short stints in ECW & SMW, Al Snow joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1995, where he worked under a mask as “Avatar” & “Shinobi”, before he became “Leif Cassidy”, one half of ‘The New Rockers’ with his Tag Team partner Marty Jannetty, who was famous for teaming with Shawn Michaels from 1988 till 1991 as the original ‘Rockers’.

Shawn Michaels’ shoes were a little bit too big to fill, so in the fall of 1997, Al Snow was sent back to Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling, where he came up with bringing a mannequin head with him to the ring, that was simply known as “Head”.

In 1998, Al Snow & Head were brought back to the WWF at the peak of the Attitude Era, where Al made a name for himself and is now remembered as one of the most famous mid-carders from that era, including winning the Hardcore Title, European Title & Tag Team Title in the process.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AL SNOW!

• Lio Rush Shoots On WWE For Their Current Booking Of Black Wrestlers, Says It’s A Publicity Stunt

Former WWE wrestler Lio Rush took to Twitter to shoot on WWE’s current booking of Black wrestlers. He said that WWE giving Black wrestlers Title reigns during the “Black Lives Matter” movement is a publicity stunt, and they just pair up Black wrestlers because they don’t know what to do with them.

This comes after Keith Lee won the NXT Championship and Apollo Crews won the United States Championship. This is also a shot at WWE pairing up Bobby Lashley and MVP.

Below is what Rush posted:

“Dear wrestling world,

Being black IS NOT a gimmick. I repeat BEING BLACK IS NOT A GIMMICK.

If you’re going to evolve championships, stage settings, corporate funding on pointless sh*t, the women’s division and everything else. Then this needs to change also. We are not for your convenience. We are not for your ‘good faith’ publicity stunts.

Being an African American professional wrestler is a lot harder than you think and to be honest it’s exhausting as hell.

What I’m tired of seeing and experiencing in the wrestling community are African Americans being villanized for false stories and minor mishaps. This isn’t random, it’s very current and it’s been current. I’m sick of it. The system isn’t just the problem….

….. it’s also the people tweeting and saying that African Americans have mental issues when they decide enough is enough and finally decide to speak out. It’s disgusting.

I’m sick of the bullsh*t and it pains me because i love this business so much. To the fans, do better. You’re the ones killing wrestling and making this sh*t whack.

STOP PAIRING UP BLACK PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THEM. STOP THAT SH*T!

STOP GIVING AFRICAN AMERICANS TITLE REIGNS WHEN GLOBAL BLACK ISSUES ARE HAPPENING. WE’RE NOT STUPID. STOP THAT SH*T!”
