Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring WrestleMania 41 and Bryan Danielson.
• List Of Originally Pitched Matches For WrestleMania 41
A brief moment in the trailer for WWE: Unreal, Netflix’s upcoming docuseries about the world behind the curtain of WWE, has sparked fan buzz thanks to a surprising glimpse of what might have been planned for WrestleMania 41.
Just seconds into the teaser, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H is seen in a boardroom at company headquarters, discussing plans for WWE’s biggest show of 2025. Off to the side, a whiteboard appears — and while partially blurred, it clearly lists some of the originally pitched matches for WrestleMania 41.
Though not all of the writing is legible, below are the matches that were listed (these were tentative plans, that’s why some names appear twice):
– WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena
– Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk OR Seth Rollins
– World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk OR Seth Rollins vs. Gunther
– Women’s World Championship: Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair
– WWE Women’s Championship: Jade Cargill vs. Nia Jax
– Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens
– Wyatt Sicks vs. Judgment Day
– Women’s Tag Team Championship: Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch vs. IYO SKY and Asuka
– AJ Styles vs. Logan Paul
– Bad Bunny vs. Dominik Mysterio
– Bron Breakker vs. Drew McIntyre
– Rey Mysterio (with Travis Scott) vs. Chad Gable
• “My neck is wrecked. I think enough is enough” – Bryan Danielson
During an interview with Jamal Niaz, AEW wrestler Bryan Danielson was asked about his in-ring future. Here’s what The American Dragon said:
“My neck is wrecked. So, it’s not no chance, but it’s risk versus reward at this point, right? So I want to be able to live comfortably with my wife and kids.
One of the things our society has a real problem with is realizing when enough is enough, and I’m very satisfied with my career, and I think enough is enough.”
Bryan’s last match took place in October 2024, where he lost the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley at the WrestleDream PPV. Bryan has noted in past interviews that he is trying to avoid neck surgery.
