• List Of Released WWE Wrestlers That AEW Is Considering Signing

WWE released a number of on-screen and backstage employees two weeks ago to make budget cuts due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Due to the mass release, speculation started that a number of those wrestlers could be signed by AEW.

It’s not possible for all wrestlers to sign with the company, but AEW would surely be looking to sign some of them.

According to Slice Wrestling, AEW is planning to sign the following 4 wrestlers:

1. Zack Ryder (Matt Cardona)

After a 14-year journey with WWE as Zack Ryder, the only Internet Champion in history has become Matt Cardona. He never really got a chance to prove himself in WWE.

Earlier we noted that Cardona registered some trademarks through Michael Dockins, the same attorney who has registered a lot of AEW trademarks. This could be a hint that he’ll be heading to AEW. In addition, he’s a very close friend of the company’s Executive Vice President, Cody Rhodes, so Rhodes will be eager to sign him.

2. Erick Rowan (Joseph Rudd)

The former WWE Tag Team Champion has been silent about his release from the WWE. Where he’ll head next is unknown, but some good booking decisions from AEW could lead him to the company.

Rudd’s former Tag Team partner, Brodie Lee (fka as Luke Harper), is working as “The Exalted One” in AEW. Rudd could reunite with him by joining The Dark Order.
