For years, fans have been clamoring for WWE’s grandest spectacle, WrestleMania, to make its way to the UK, buoyed by the passionate and dedicated fanbase across the country.

WWE’s 2023 visit to the UK for a PLE at the O2 Arena for Money In The Bank reignited hopes and discussions about the possibility of hosting WrestleMania on British soil.

During Money In The Bank 2023, John Cena’s segment with Grayson Waller sparked excitement as Cena voiced his desire to bring WrestleMania to London, UK, adding fuel to the longstanding campaign by fans.

In recent years, WWE has adopted a strategy of allowing cities to bid for hosting rights for major events, including WrestleMania. This approach is driven by the economic boost that WWE events inject into local economies. Additionally, WWE aims to expand its international presence, with plans to host more PLEs overseas while keeping flagship events predominantly in the United States.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has thrown his support behind the campaign, pledging to advocate for London as a WrestleMania host city if he secures reelection. His commitment underscores the significance of hosting such a prestigious event and the potential benefits it could bring to the city.

Here’s what Sadiq tweeted:

“London is already the sporting capital of the world.

If I’m re-elected next Thursday – we’ll go even further.

We’ll look to bring WrestleMania, Superbowl and the NBA to London, and put together another bid for the 2040 Olympics.”

WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H replied:

“Let’s talk.”
