• Old School Wrestling Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday Today

Today would have been the 56th birthday of Old School WCW/WWF Legend “”Flyin'” Brian Pillman.

Pillman got his first break in the business in Canada, where he was trained by Stu Hart in the world famous Dungeon, and also wrestled for the Hart Family promotion ‘Calgary Stampede Wrestling’.

After becoming a member of the ‘4 Horsemen’ in WCW, and a short stint in Paul Heyman’s ECW, Brian became a member of the 1997 heel WWF stable ‘The Hart Foundation’ along with his close personal friends Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Davey Boy Smith & Jim Neidhart.

On this day in 1999, Memphis Power Pro Wrestling (successor of the USWA) aired a match between WWF developmental wrestlers JR Smooth (Headshrinker Fatu aka Rikishi) and Kurt Angle.

• Major Change Coming To WWE PPVs From Next Month’s Money In The Bank 2018?

According to PWInsider, WWE is set to increase the length of their PPVs (which are now dual branded shows) starting from next month’s Money In The Bank 2018 PPV. WWE is doing this to accommodate more wrestlers on the PPV match-card.

PWInsider also noted that WWE informed their international broadcast partners that PPVs will now begin at 7 PM EST. This would mean that the PPV main show would last at least 4 hours.
