On this day in 1998, the World Wrestling Federation aired an episode of their weekly TV show ‘WWF Shotgun Saturday Night ‘.
It was pre-taped at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania and featured matches, interviews & storyline segments on the road to the ‘WWF Fully Loaded 1998: In Your House’ PPV.

• Major Long-Term Storyline For The WWE Championship Could Be In Works
Drew McIntyre won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36, and he’s had a pretty dominant reign so far. The Chosen One is set to cross 100 days as the Champion very soon.
He’s most likely going to retain the Title against Dolph Ziggler at The Horror Show at WWE Extreme Rules, after which he’s rumored to feud with Randy Orton.
WrestlingNewsco is reporting that WWE could have McIntyre drop the Title to Orton at SummerSlam or sometime later this year. Orton may then feud with Edge for the Title at the start of next year (as Edge will be back by then). In the end, McIntyre may win back the Title and get his big moment when fans return.
“An idea was pitched to have Orton win the title and then defend against Edge at the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania and McIntyre could win the title again at a later date to get his true crowning moment with fans in attendance.”
