• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (June 15, 2007) – Old School WWF Legend Passed Away

On this day in 2007, we lost Old School WWF Legend “Sensational” Sherri Martel (Real name: Sherri Russell) at the age of 49 due to a drug overdose.

During her career, Sherri most famously worked for the World Wrestling Federation (1987-1993) and Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling (1994-1997), but also appeared in Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling (1993-1994) and Verne Gagne’s American Wrestling Association (1985-1987).

She wasn’t only a former WWF Women’s Champion, but is also still considered one of the greatest female managers / valets of all time.

Among her most famous clients were “The Macho King” Randy Savage, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair and Harlem Heat.

• Major Surprise Could Take Place On Tonight’s RAW

After a decent Backlash pay-per-view last night, WWE will be bringing the fallout of the show on tonight’s RAW. This week’s episode of RAW was already taped at the WWE Performance Center last week.

WrestleVotes is reporting that something unexpected is going to happen on tonight’s show, and it looks like it’ll be something major, as such a legit source has decided not to spoil anything for the fans.

“I really don’t want to spoil the news for everyone, so I’m not. However, I got a phone call earlier with info that RAW will feature something unexpected. Which I think everyone will like…. Sometimes scares never heal.”

One thing to note in this tweet is the last line, which says ‘scars never heal’, which could be a hint that the surprise has something related to do with Christian, as these are a part of the lyrics of his theme song.
