11. Originally Planned WWE Title Match For SummerSlam 2017 Cancelled
As we noted in the above article, there are talks of John Cena facing AJ Styles for the United States Championship at SummerSlam 2017.
For those who don’t know, the original plan for SummerSlam 2017 was for Jinder Mahal to defend the WWE Championship against John Cena in the co-main event of the show. But with WWE having other plans for Cena, it looks like this match won’t be taking place at the biggest event of the Summer.
With that being said, it’s hard to figure out who’s going to face Mahal at SummerSlam, as his feud with Randy Orton is scheduled to end at Battleground 2017 and the two top babyfaces of SmackDown Live (John Cena & AJ Styles) aren’t free.
