Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Cody Rhodes and The Bloodline.
• When Cody Rhodes became the Undisputed WWE Champion at WrestleMania 40, many fans assumed that he’ll definitely have a year long reign and will walk into WrestleMania 41 as the defending champion. However, his reign as champion for a full year is not guaranteed.
The Rock, who last appeared in a promo segment with Rhodes on the RAW after WrestleMania XL, left an ominous message for The American Nightmare, vowing to “pursue Cody for the rest of his life”. During their feud, The Rock obtained the People’s Championship at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony and carried it through WrestleMania 40.
While Rhodes has defended his title for several months, there are doubts about how long he will hold it. According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE has a contingency plan involving The Rock and the People’s Title if Cody’s one-year run doesn’t continue as planned:
“One of the deals with Rock and Cody was if Cody – it was not a lock that Cody would have a one-year run. He could but one of the things I was pretty much told is the reason for the People’s Title was a back up for Cody not to go a year. So, they could go with something else.”
This means that if Cody loses the Undisputed Title before WrestleMania 41, then the planned match between Rhodes and The Rock could be for the People’s Championship.

• During an interview with Metro, Jey Uso dropped two big hints about the ongoing Bloodline storyline – him being a part of this angle again and more members joining The Bloodline.
Here’s what he said:
“I’m looking forward to The Bloodline storyline as much as you all are, because I’ll be honest, I don’t know what we’re going to do, I don’t know what’s going to happen.
I don’t know how they’re going to intertwine me back in there… Sami (Zayn) would be my first pick, right? It only makes sense. Hey, we might have other family members, more surprises, man.”
