Fans attended a WWE event in person after 13 months this past weekend at WrestleMania 37.

WWE is now back to having virtual fans at their events via the WWE ThunderDome, but live fans are expected back again in August.

According to Sports Illustrated, the SummerSlam 2021 pay-per-view will have live fans in attendance:

“Following the success of last weekend’s WrestleMania, which was held in front of a live crowd at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, WWE returned to its ThunderDome on Monday, performing in front of a virtual crowd.

Sources within WWE confirmed to Sports Illustrated that the plan is to hold SummerSlam in front of a live crowd.”

On this day in Pro Wrestling history on April 16, 2000, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired ‘WCW Spring Stampede 2000’ LIVE on PPV from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

This was the first ever WCW pay-per-view after the April 10 – Eric Bischoff/Vince Russo reboot, as well as the first to feature the infamous New Blood vs. Millionaire’s Club feud.

It was the last of 5 Spring Stampede pay-per-view events that WCW aired between 1994 and 2000.
