Former WWE wrestler Mansoor revealed on the Cafe de Rene podcast that during the Greatest Royal Rumble 2018 premium live event in Saudi Arabia, organizers had requested the presence of two deceased WWF Legends, Yokozuna and Randy Savage, and a “little person”.
Since the legends were no longer alive, the company substituted Yokozuna with Sumo wrestler Hiroki Sumi and the little person they brought in was Hornswoggle, to fulfill the organizers’ requests.
Sumi participated in the 50-man Royal Rumble Match and was quickly eliminated by Mark Henry.
Here’s what Mansoor said:
“So, the Saudis had actually requested for Macho Man, Yokozuna, who else they wanted?
Oh, they also, so if you remember, Hornswoggle showed up at that one because they specifically said, ‘We want a little person (laughs)’.
Like, yeah, ‘Swoggle gets a payday.
And I guess they just found a Sumo wrestler because yeah, they wanted to see Yokozuna.”
