Below are a couple of top AEW news stories of the day, featuring Mark Henry and Hologram.
• Mark Henry’s debut at AEW Double or Nothing in 2021 drew significant attention, but his time in All Elite Wrestling was seen as underwhelming by many. Now that Henry is no longer with AEW, he has expressed feeling a sense of abandonment.
Henry confirmed he would not be re-signing with Tony Khan’s company and has since made a surprising appearance at MLW’s Battle Riot VI event. In an interview with Forbes, he discussed his AEW stint, revealing his biggest disappointment.
“My least-favorite, man, maybe that I didn’t get to finish with all of the people that I was helping. I felt a sense of abandonment when I left. There’s still people that I mentor and talk to, they call me every day, but then there’s some that I started and I didn’t finish and it just kills me to not be able to have an impact on their life,” Henry said.

• AEW has introduced a new character, Hologram, who debuted on the July 20th episode of Collision. The backstage response to Hologram’s debut has been overwhelmingly positive, praising both his performance and presentation.
All Elite Wrestling invested heavily in Hologram’s introduction, aiming for a “technologically ambitious” gimmick. The vignettes leading up to his debut emphasized the company’s commitment to this new character.
Hologram was revealed to be former AAA star Aramis. The masked luchador made a memorable debut with a striking entrance, wearing a bright green vest and surrounded by blue lights and smoke. He faced Gringo Loco in his debut match and secured a win, showcasing his skills to the 1,200 fans in attendance.
According to Fightful Select, Hologram received considerable praise after his debut, with significant recognition also going to Gringo Loco for his role in the match.
Hologram is now officially signed to AEW, while Loco remains unsigned. The two have collaborated numerous times over the years, and AEW has additional plans for the “technologically ambitious” aspects of Hologram’s character.
