It’s a known fact that Matt Hardy has a good relationship with The Elite and he has shown appreciation for the Executive Vice Presidents of AEW on numerous occasions.

Hardy never said it directly, but he indicated many times that he was on The Elite’s side during the group’s problems with CM Punk since their infamous brawl after the All Out pay-per-view last year.

He was also one of the names who was being kept away from AEW Collision, but it was never confirmed if he was banned from the show by Punk.

After Punk’s release, Hardy live tweeted AEW Collision, something he usually doesn’t do.

He first lauded AEW President Tony Khan for handling the situation professionally in a tweet which he later deleted.

“Kudos, TK. Way to honestly address this right off the bat with grace & professionalism. #AEWCollision.”

He also expressed extreme joy over the fact that The Young Bucks made their Collision debut in the main event of the show. Nick and Matt Jackson weren’t working the show previously as Punk was running it before his release.

“The @youngbucks make their #AEWCollision debut. I LOVE TO SEE IT!”

Many fans saw these tweets as a shot at Punk and called Hardy out for it.

Hardy responded with the following tweet to them:

“ME, when internet nobodies unaccountably insult me online while my net worth is eight digits & I’ve achieved everything I’ve ever wanted in life…

I honestly feel sorry for them.”
