Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Michael Cole and Vince McMahon.

• Michael Cole missed only his 4th show since joining WWE. He didn’t work Friday’s SmackDown, as Corey Graves said Cole is on a “special assignment”. Wade Barrett replaced Cole.

During an interview with WFAN, Cole revealed that he missed SmackDown because he’s going on a 10-day vacation to Cozumel, Mexico.

“I’m taking a vacation, it’s the first one I’ve taken in a long while. It’s been pretty incredible to miss 3 or 4 television shows in 27 years.

I’m actually leaving tomorrow for Cozumel, Mexico, for a 10-day family vacation with the entire family and grandkids.”

It’s safe to say that Cole definitely earned this time off!

• As we reported earlier, 6 former WWE writers spoke with Rolling Stone and described their experience in the company, and accused former CEO Vince McMahon of racial insensitivity, bullying & verbal abuse.

One former writer claimed that they witnessed a WWE Official in leadership position tell the following to one of the other writers:

“I wish your dad pulled out and came on your mom’s t*ts instead of having you.”

The writer further added:

“This was, like, good old boys locker-room talk. The more someone was promoted and the closer they got to that innermost circle. The more volatile it got, and the more you dealt with some of these ‘good old boys.'”
