• Mick Foley Deletes Twitter Account After Elon Musk Officially Acquires The Platform

World’s Richest Man Elon Musk now owns Twitter. He bought the social media platform for $44 billion.

Earlier this year in April, Musk tweeted the following:

“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.

I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.

Twitter has tremendous potential — I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it.

I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means.”

After reading this, WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley tweeted:

“I’ll be giving some serious thought to leaving Twitter for good in the near future.

I do not have a good feeling about where this platform is heading.”

Now that Musk’s Twitter acquisition is official, Foley has left the platform by deleting his account.

Elon tweeted the following about the future of Twitter:

“Twitter will be forming a content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints.

No major content decisions or account reinstatements will happen before that council convenes.”

A page then asked Elon the following question about Kanye West after the recent controversy:

“So why did you restore already Kanye West’s account? Twitter should not be a platform to spew racism and antisemitism.”

Musk replied:

“Ye’s account was restored by Twitter before the acquisition. They did not consult with or inform me.”
