• MJF No-Shows AEW Double Or Nothing Meet & Greet, Communication Between AEW & Him At An All-Time Low

MJF has been teasing for a while that he’s unhappy in AEW and wants to leave the company when his contract expires in 2024, and possibly sign with WWE.

According to PWInsider, MJF no-showed Saturday’s AEW Double Or Nothing Meet & Greet and the company couldn’t get in contact with him:

“The word making the rounds at the event is that he legitimately did not attend and that the promotion was not able to get in contact with him. For fans who had paid for MJF autographs and photos, AEW staff did their best to make good to them, including offering exchanges to other talents.”

Fightful Select then gave an update that the communication between AEW & MJF has reached an all-time low:

“AEW has remained quiet about the situation, not responding to inquiries for information or comment. The only sources within the company that would speak on the matter said that they were ‘very unhappy about how it all played out’.

One AEW source said they heard that communication between the two sides had reached an all-time low. AEW talent and personnel were asked to not comment on the situation, and those we’ve spoken to have not heard back from him.

A flight for MJF out of Las Vegas across the country was booked for late Saturday night. Whether or not he gets on the plane remains to be seen. Neither side would confirm the reasoning for this when pressed. We have to reiterate, we’re not sure if he’s actually getting on the plane, but have confirmed a flight for him has been booked out of Vegas Saturday night.”

The Wrestling Observer added that MJF’s Double Or Nothing PPV status is up in the air (he is scheduled to face Wardlow at the PPV):

“As far as what’s happening with MJF, it appears anyone who knows isn’t talking and the rest have no idea what’s going on. No clue at this point whether he will be on the show tomorrow.”
