MVP’s debut in AEW caught attention not only for his in-ring and managerial skills but also due to his past conflict with Chris Jericho. The two had a falling out after a confrontation in June 2022, following an AEW Dynamite taping.

The tension was largely rooted in political differences, which led to the breakdown of their friendship.

The incident became known around Double or Nothing 2022, with MVP confirming there was an “exchange” but insisting “it didn’t go down like that,” suggesting both sides had their own version of the story.

Their political disagreements, including Jericho’s wife’s presence at the January 6th insurrection, were central to the conflict, which played out both publicly and privately.

Upon joining AEW, MVP took immediate steps to resolve the tension.

According to Fightful Select, he approached Jericho directly on his first night with the company, addressing the matter in Jericho’s locker room.

While details of their conversation remain private, backstage sources confirmed that the issue was resolved professionally, earning MVP praise for his approach.

The two have since interacted amicably backstage, signaling that their feud is officially over.

MVP’s proactive effort to squash the beef shows both men are ready to move forward professionally in AEW, leaving their past conflicts behind.
