Below are some top WWE news stories of the day.
• WWE’s groundbreaking partnership with Netflix is poised to significantly expand the company’s global reach.
During a December 3 presentation at Netflix HQ, WWE executives Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Nick Khan discussed the deal, which will make Netflix the international streaming home for RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and premium live events starting in January 2025. Triple H highlighted the significance of this shift, calling it a “one-stop shop” for fans outside the U.S.
In the discussion, Triple H compared the current WWE era to the legendary Attitude Era, stating that today’s WWE has surpassed it in scale and impact.
When Michael Cole said the Attitude Era was “the biggest and most robust era,” Triple H replied:
“I don’t think that is accurate anymore. I think it’s right now; I was in the Attitude Era at the peak of it. We didn’t realize what it was in the moment. Having seen that, I see this, and I see it way bigger. This is a different moment of time in the business. At the end of it, it’s going to be called the Netflix Era because that’s where the big change is.”
Cole insisted on calling this era the “Triple H Era”.

• WWE Chief Creative Officer Triple H announced that Pat McAfee will return as a full-time commentator for Monday Night RAW on Netflix in 2025.
Here’s what The Game said at the WWE media event at the Netflix headquarters:
“Letting the cat out of the bag a little bit right now, Pat’s actually about to come back with us here, full-time on Monday Night RAW.”
McAfee stepped away earlier this year to focus on hosting ESPN’s College GameDay.
The timing of his return aligns with RAW’s Netflix debut on January 6, 2025, though McAfee may initially juggle his WWE duties with NCAA football commitments, which run through January 20.
Here’s what McAfee tweeted about his return:
“An absolute honor to be asked back. A childhood dream realized every single time I’m lucky enough to be in an arena with the WWE Universe.
Can’t wait to be talking into a microphone next to Michael Cole again. He’s the GOAT.
I’m excited to tell the worldwide audience on Netflix how great the WWE Superstars are… and how big of scumbags some of ‘em are too.
Let’s go.”
Details about how McAfee’s addition will affect the current broadcast team, featuring Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett, have not yet been revealed.
