New Details About Vince Steele Passing Away In The Middle Of A Match

The wrestling community continues to mourn the loss of Vince Steele, known as “The Jurassic Juggernaut,” who tragically passed away during a Brii Combination Wrestling (BCW) event due to a heart attack. New details have emerged, shedding light on the events leading to his passing.

According to PWInsider, Steele was participating in a four-way match against Jeff Skywalker, Max Capacity, and Benny Blanco when he collapsed in the corner of the ring.

The referee immediately halted the match, calling for the bell as another referee, who was CPR-certified, rushed to provide assistance. BCW officials promptly contacted 911.

While police arrived “within minutes” and took over CPR efforts, an ambulance did not arrive for 23 minutes.

A defibrillator was used as medical personnel worked to revive Steele, but he was ultimately transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

BCW has released an official statement:

“Rest in Power, Vince Steele

We are heartbroken to confirm the passing of Vince Steele, a beloved member of the BCW family. His passion, dedication, and larger-than-life presence left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him.

During yesterday’s event, Vince suffered a medical emergency in the ring. We want to express our deepest gratitude to the Ridgefield Park Police Department, who were on the scene within minutes and immediately provided emergency medical assistance. Despite their rapid response and the best efforts of first responders, we tragically lost Vince.

This is an unimaginable loss, and we ask for patience and respect as we process this tragedy. We will share more details in the coming days on how we plan to honor Vince’s incredible legacy.

Following Steele’s collapse, BCW canceled the remainder of the event, allowing fans to leave while the locker room remained to await updates. Upon confirmation of his passing, fellow wrestlers went to the hospital to pay their respects.
