• ON THIS DAY IN WCW HISTORY (March 26, 2001) – WCW MONDAY NITRO (THE NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS)
On this day in 2001, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired the final episode of their weekly TV show ‘WCW MONDAY NITRO’.
It was broadcasted from the Club La Vela in Panama City Beach, Florida and included matches, interviews & segments featuring the 2001 WCW Wrestlers.
After Mr. McMahon announced earlier on that he had bought World Championship Wrestling, the show ended up being a simulcast with WWF RAW (on TNN) that saw Shane McMahon coming out on NITRO and announcing that he’s the new owner of WCW.
