Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving SmackDown and Kevin Owens.

• As seen on last night’s RAW, Pat McAfee permanently joined the RAW commentary team as a color commentator, with Michael Cole being the play-by-play commentator.

McAfee replaced Wade Barrett in this role.

According to PWInsider, Wade Barrett and Corey Graves are going to be the new SmackDown commentary team, with Barrett being the color commentator and Graves being the play-by-play commentator.

• Kevin Owens failed to defeat Logan Paul for the United States Championship at Royal Rumble 2024.

During the match, a friend of Logan caused distraction at ringside. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller then ran out. Theory passed brass knuckles to Logan, but Owens pulled them away and punched Logan with it!

Kevin went for the cover, but referee saw the knuckles and disqualified Owens. Logan retained the Title via DQ.

Owens powerbombed Logan through the announce table after the match.

When Owens participated in the US Title #1 contenders tournament and feuded with Logan on SmackDown, he was portraying an “injured” hand (storyline injury), wearing a cast.

The Wrestling Observer revealed that Owens wrestled against Paul at the Royal Rumble with a genuine fractured foot, sustained during the tournament finals match against Santos Escobar.
