After AJ Styles won the Independence Day Battle Royal last week on SmackDown Live and became the #1 contender for the US Title, he was scheduled to get his Title shot at Battleground 2017 PPV. However, after Styles won the US Title at a Live Event in Madison Square Garden, that Styles vs. Owens Title match (now the rematch) has been removed from the PPV match listings by WWE.
