– Former WWE Wrestler Says Finn Balor’s “Demon” Gimmick Is Just An Indy Guy Running With Face Paint, Says Alexa Bliss Is The Best Women’s Champion WWE Has Right Now
During a recent edition of “The Brand” podcast, former WCW wrestler Vito LoGrasso discussed TLC 2017 along with co-host Jeff Lane. Below is the discussion about the Alexa Bliss – Mickie James and AJ Styles – Finn Balor match:
On Alexa Bliss vs. Mickie James:
Jeff: Next we had Charly backstage with Alexa Bliss and a weird little promo there. I think Alexa is a good talker but the whole “I like my butt” stuff I just thought came off kind of cheesy. What do you think of this?
Vito: Yeah kind of cheesy. I mean it was her typical Alexa Bliss promo and I think she’s a great deal. I don’t think there’s anything you can say or criticize her about. She’s arrogant. She’s cocky. She gets tough when she has to. She kicks a$$ when she has to.
So the butt thing… you know…. she has got that little bit of swag going on. So I could see that happening for her. Like I said, you know she is the best woman they have in that Division right now. She’s the Champion. You got to go with what’s working.
I think Alexa Bliss working the arm was very well done. She does very good heel spots. The one thing I saw in the match that I did not like was the Mickie James missing the kick on the comeback which you plainly saw that she missed it. But the finish was good. I liked the finish. It was a great finish.
It was a good back and forth match between ladies. Mickie James is a hell of a professional. You know mistakes happen. Not everybody could point it out or pick it out, but if I don’t say it that means I’m not being truthful. I’m just calling it like I see it.
Alexa Bliss is the best Women’s Champion they have. I think she’s gonna have a long title run. I think you’ll see her going to Mania. I don’t know who’s gonna come out or would challenge her but I could see her carrying it for a little bit longer.
I actually thought that Mickie James was gonna retire at the end of the match because she was extra emotional. She knows her time is coming and you know …. great career, very good wrestler, very nice lady. You can’t say enough good things about both ladies. They both worked hard.
On Finn Balor vs. AJ Styles:
Vito: Everybody knows my thoughts on Finn Balor. He does nothing for me. The demon gimmick, guy in paint, it looks very, very Indie. When he was outside the ring and he was running to chase AJ Styles, he looked like an Indie guy doing it with face paint. Just didn’t look good.
The in-ring stuff they do, it’s good wrestling. Wrestling that’s effective for Finn Balor when he’s wrestling AJ Styles. But when Finn Balor wrestles somebody else, who’s not at that level or not a cruiserweight who could wrestle cruiserweight style match, he’s not effective.
Where does Finn Balor go after this? Who does he wrestle? Can you put Finn Balor in there with Brock Lesnar? No. Can you put him in there with Kane? No (although they did). Can you put him there with Braun Strowman? No. Can you put him in there with Roman Reigns? You did and it didn’t look right.
– New Video Of The Undertaker Shows How Much Of A Gentleman The Deadman Actually Is
As we noted before, The Undertaker attended the Atlanta screening of ESPN’s “30 for 30: Nature Boy” documentary.
While you might have seen The Undertaker Tombstone Vickie Guerrero or Chokeslam Chyna on WWF/E programming, but he’s quite a gentleman in real life.
