In 2002, Brock Lesnar was the “Next Big Thing”. Now, WWE Officials consider Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson (age 23) to be the next big thing.

After getting signed by WWE, he was drafted to the RAW brand in 2021. However, he didn’t make an official debut as a wrestler.

He has only made a handful of appearances on WWE TV since then. He got in the ring at WrestleMania 38 and laid out Chad Gable.

He also joined fellow Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle for the milk bath segment on the December 9th 2022 episode of SmackDown.

Reports came out last year that Gable has started doing practice matches at the WWE Performance Centre.

Now, Xero News is reporting that Gable is getting ready to debut:

“Gable Steveson reportedly gearing up for WWE debut soon, said to be in great shape, wanted to train and be the best he could be before stepping in officially.

Appears, the time is getting closer now.”

WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H revealed in an interview that there were plans for him to have a match (or at least a physical segment) with Steveson at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, but that plan got nixed due to HHH’s heart issues, which led to his in-ring retirement from WWE.
