Nia Jax recently revealed why she called Bayley “BBL Bayley” during a heated exchange on the July 12th episode of WWE SmackDown. This comment, referencing Bayley’s backside, shocked fans and added fuel to their ongoing rivalry.
Jax earned the right to challenge Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam 2024 on August 3rd by winning the Queen of the Ring tournament against Lyra Valkyria in May.
In an interview on the Battleground Podcast, Jax explained her choice of words, stating it was intended to highlight an obvious aspect of Bayley’s character. Reflecting on their long history together, dating back to NXT, Jax noted that they had never had a significant promotional or storytelling interaction on the main roster until now.
“I was just saying the obvious. I just kind of thought of it because Bayley and I have such a history, going way back into NXT. It’s been a solid decade of me and Bayley. We’ve never been able on the main roster to have a real good interaction of promo and storytelling.
When we got in there, and she brought up the injuring and all this stuff, it just hit me, and I was literally saying the obvious, what everybody has known for her to have.
I have known Bayley long to know that is an all-natural, beautiful Brazilian booty, Latina (laughs), but knowing her for as long as I have and seeing her character develop, I think she’s been more embracing of her God-given talents. So I just stated the obvious.”

Nia has never had a match at SummerSlam. So her first match ever at the biggest event of the summer will be for the Women’s Title.
