• Old School Wrestling Veteran Celebrates His Birthday
Old School Wrestling Veteran Samoa Joe (Real name: Nuufolau Joel Seanoa) celebrates his 40th birthday today.
Samoa Joe joined World Wrestling Federation’s developmental promotion Ultimate Pro Wrestling in 2000 and made his WWF debut towards the end of the famous Attitude Era during the March 3, 2001 episode of WWF Jakked/WWF Metal.
Joe originally made a name for himself in the early years of Ring of Honor, before joining Total Nonstop Action! in 2005, where he became a well known star and also won multiple Championships, including a win over WWF/E Legend Kurt Angle for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at the ‘TNA LockDown 2008’ PPV.
After almost 10 full years with the company, he left iMPACT Wrestling (TNA’s new name) in early 2015 and joined WWE’s developmental department “NXT” just a few weeks later.
Joe is currently the United States Champion on WWE’s SmackDown brand.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMOA JOE!
• Nia Jax Not Afraid Of Hitting WWE Hall Of Famer
As we noted before, WWE is teasing an in-ring return for WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix. Below is what WWE posted regarding Beth in the upcoming RAW preview:
Is Beth Phoenix pondering an in-ring return?
“After Nia Jax and Tamina dared to put their hands on Beth Phoenix at WWE Fastlane, the WWE Hall of Famer retaliated on Raw, bringing the fight to “The Samoan Slaughterhouse” alongside her former tag team partner and longtime friend, Natalya.
They say that anything can happen in WWE, and that’s doubly true on The Road to WrestleMania. Are we witnessing a “Divas of Doom” reunion, with The Glamazon teaming up with The Queen of Harts once more?”
Beth Phoenix could be a part of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 35.
Various reports are suggesting that we’re going to get one of the following two matches for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 35:
Sasha Banks & Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax & Tamina Snuka vs. Beth Phoenix & Natalya
OR
Sasha Banks & Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax & Tamina Snuka vs. Beth Phoenix & Natalya vs. The IIconics (Peyton Royce & Billie Kay)
With that being said, Nia & Beth traded shots on Twitter and you can check out their exchange below:
.@TaminaSnuka @NiaJaxWWE you are so much better than the way you have been behaving. You have forgotten what it means to channel legacy and strength. Perhaps you need a reminder. #DOD pic.twitter.com/NP3ySQsuFp
