• No Truth To Claims Of Former World Champion Returning To WWE
During a recent interview Nos Cayó La Noche in Mexico, former World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio revealed that he’s been in talks with WWE and he’s hoping to return to the company this year.
Below is what Del Rio said:
“We have been in communication. We have rebuilt the bridge. On their part, they were wrong on some decisions and I also did some things wrong on my part.
I am hoping that we can reach an agreement sometime this year or by the middle of this year I’ll be back there.”
According to Fightful, a source in WWE straight out denied this claim from Del Rio, stating that there’s no such agreement in place and no plans for Del Rio to return to the company anytime soon.
Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT also confirmed this:
I’m told he absolutely didn’t reach out to Del Rio for what that’s worth. Nor did anyone.
