Below are a couple of top AEW news stories of the day about FTR losing the Tag Team Titles and Toni Storm’s non-PG antics:
– On last night’s post-WrestleDream episode of AEW Collision, FTR surprisingly lost the AEW World Tag Team Championship to the team of Ricky Starks and Big Bill (fka Big Cass in WWE).
The 185 days long reign of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler ending led to speculation about FTR possibly leaving AEW, but that is not the case as they recently signed a contract extension with the company until 2027.
Harwood shared the following tweet which made some fans think that FTR was actually leaving AEW:
“What a run. Love you all. Top Guys Out”
He later sent out the following tweet to clarify FTR is not going anywhere:
“Guys, I say ‘Top Guys Out’ all the time. We ain’t going nowhere. This is our home.”
According to the Wrestling Observer, the reason why FTR dropped the titles is because Cash Wheeler is dealing with an injury.
The story AEW told on television was that at the WrestleDream pay-per-view, when Aussie Open ran them together, they sold it like Cash had injured his rib there.
It is unknown how long Wheeler will be out of action.
– On last night’s episode of Collision, “Timeless” Toni Storm defeated Kiera Hogan.
