Below are a couple of CM Punk news stories.

• In an interview with Roots of Fight, CM Punk talked about WWF Legend Andre The Giant’s impact on the professional wrestling business.

Here’s what Punk said about the first ever WWF/WWE Hall of Famer:

“I think it is really hard for people to understand like how big and athletic Andre was.

You know when he was in his prime, not a whole lot of footage of that and obviously, famously 1987 was WrestleMania 3 when (Hulk) Hogan slammed him like… he was in the twilight of his career, but he helped usher that rock and wrestling pop culture era and nothing would be the same if it wasn’t for him.”

• After his WWE departure in 2014, CM Punk went to the UFC, but lost both of his fights (the second one was overturned to a No Contest after his opponent tested positive for marijuana).

During an interview with former UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson on MightyCast, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker was asked about CM Punk’s MMA career.

Here’s what The Deadman said:

“One thing with Punk that I do respect is the fact that he tried it. He had a huge name in wrestling before he tried mixed martial arts. He had a lot to lose because [wrestling] was his money maker and then you go over [to MMA] and get your a$$ handed to you.

I had a lot of respect for him and the fact that he gave it a shot. It was something he wanted to do. He did it. It didn’t work out and he’s back where he should be and everything is right in the world.”
