NXT TakeOver: New Orleans (Live Coverage & Results) – Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Aleister Black, Inaugural NXT North American Championship Ladder Match

Tonight’s NXT TakeOver: New Orleans show is airing live from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Below is the final match-card for tonight’s show:

– NXT Championship Match: Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Aleister Black

– NXT Women’s Championship Match: Ember Moon (c) vs. Shayna Baszler

– NXT Tag Team Championship & Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Trophy Match: Undisputed Era (Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly) vs. Roderick Strong & Pete Dunne vs. The Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar)

– Ladder Match For The NXT North American Championship: EC 3 vs. Lars Sullivan vs. Ricochet vs. Killian Dain vs. The Velveteen Dream vs. Adam Cole

– Unsanctioned Match: Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa (if Gargano wins, he will be reinstated to NXT. If Ciampa wins, Gargano will be banned from NXT forever)

The show kicks off with a Ladder match for the NXT North American Championship.

Lars Sullivan is looking to destroy the 22 year old Velveteen Dream on the outside and places him on top of a ladder set up on the ring apron and announce table.

Lars Sullivan now picks up EC 3 and slams him on top on Velveteen Dream and the ladder breaks!

Now Killian Dain has placed Ricochet in the same way and picks up Adam Cole and jumps on top of Richochet with Cole and the ladder breaks!

Sullivan is the only man standing now and he’s climbing a ladder in the ring to get that Title, but here comes Killian stop him.

EC 3 attacks Sullivan with a Ladder and sets up another ladder in the ring on which EC 3 & Cole are fighting for the Title.

Another ladder has been set up in the ring and Velveteen & Ricochet are on top of it. EC 3 & Cole crash down. Ricochet nails a Neck Breaker on Velveteen Dream from the top of the ladder!

Ricochet knocks Sullivan off the ladder and climbs up the ladder, but gets pushed down the ladder by Cole, who climbs up the ladder to grab the belt and win the match.

Adam Cole def. Ricochet, Lars Sullivan, Velveteen Dream, Killian Dream & EC 3 in a Ladder match to become the 1st ever NXT North American Champion.

Up next is the NXT Women’s Championship match. Out first is the NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon to a special musical performance. Out next is Shayna Baszler.

Ronda Rousey is ringside for this match.

Shyna puts Ember Moon to sleep with her submission hold and wins the NXT Women’s Championship!

Shayna then celebrates with Ronda Rousey at ringside after winning the Title.

Up next is the NXT Tag Team Championship & Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Trophy match.

The Authors of Pain make their way out first, followed by the team of WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne & Roderick Strong and the NXT Tag Team Champions Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole (who is now the NXT North American Champion as well).

Old School WWF Veteran Goldust & WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett are ringside for this match.

The match begins and Adam Cole is taken out of the picture as Authors of Pain double powerbomb him through an announce table!

Towards the ending moments of this match, Roderick Strong turned heel and attacked his own partner Pete Dunne and helped Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole retain the NXT Tag Team Championship and make them the winners of this year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag team Classic.

Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly (c) def. UK Champion Pete Dunne & Roderick Strong and The Authors of Pain to retain the NXT Tag Team Titles and win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic trophy.

Strong then wears an Undisputed Era arm band after the match and helps up O’Reilly & Cole and poses with them.

Up next is the NXT Championship match between Andrade “Cien” Almas and Aleister Black. Black makes his way out first, followed by Almas (along with Zelina Vega).

Zelina Vega saves Almas once again from losing by putting his leg on the bottom rope after Black connects with Black Mass and goes for the pin:

Almas hits his finisher, but Black kicks out of the pin. Vega tries to interfere again and hits a Crossbody off the top rope, but misses and Almas catches her and Black suddenly connects with Black Mass and gets the pin!

Up next is the main event of the evening, the Unsanctioned match between Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa (if Gargano wins, he will be reinstated to NXT. If Ciampa wins, Gargano will be banned from NXT forever).

The match begins with both men trading shots at each other.

Both men are on top of the announce table and Gargano pulls Ciampa’s tights and reveals his butt, but it looks like Gargano didn’t do it intentionally. Ciampa then nails a suplex on the floor off the announce table!
