• NXT Wrestler Reportedly Headed To RAW
As we noted before, a report from WrestleVotes stated that a wrestler from NXT was supposed to debut in the main event of SmackDown last week, and he was slated be a part of the ongoing storyline between Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens.
Fightful Select then reported that the wrestler who was supposed to get the call up to SmackDown was former North American Champion Damian Priest.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed this and revealed that Priest was in the ThunderDome for SmackDown, but plans for his debut changed earlier that day.
He was supposed to debut as Kevin Owens’ partner against Reigns and Jey Uso, but Owens said that Priest’s pairing with him won’t make sense as the two men don’t have any history or anything in common. Reigns also agreed to this.
As of now, Priest is set to debut on RAW, after his SmackDown debut was scrapped, but plans could change anytime.
The Archer Of Infamy lost to Karrion Kross on last night’s NXT New Year’s Evil.
