Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Odyssey Jones and Oba Femi.
• Odyssey Jones, real name Omari Palmer, addressed the domestic assault allegations that led to his WWE release in a social media video.
Speaking candidly, he began, “Good morning, my name is Omari Palmer, aka Odyssey Jones and first & foremost I’d like to thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for giving me the strength to get through these difficult times as always all glory to God.”
Jones called the allegations false and explained his delay in responding. “I’m making this video to address the false allegations. These false claims are coming from a party that you engage with, and I apologize for taking so long for addressing these false claims, but I had to patiently wait to get an injunction set in place to protect my family, my friends, and myself.”
He mentioned ongoing legal action, refraining from further comment on the allegations, and expressed gratitude to WWE for his time with the company.
“I would like to thank WWE for the amazing opportunity,” he said. “I thank you so much for bringing me up. I’d also like to thank management and creative for putting me in a position for success, as well as thank the fans for the support that you give me not only today but all the way back to day one.”
Looking ahead, Jones announced his plans to return to wrestling this year. “The journey continues. I’m ready to get back to doing what I love to do. I’m accepting bookings for 2025, and I thank you all for your support and for your time.”

WATCH: Rhea Ripley Twerks At WWE Live Event:
• Oba Femi captured the NXT Championship this past Tuesday at New Year’s Evil, defeating Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe in a triple threat match in the main event.
However, the show’s closing segment featured The Rock, who praised the NXT crowd’s energy and declared NXT as the must-see show.
During an interview on Busted Open Radio, Oba was asked about The Rock ‘stealing TV time’ from him. Here’s what the new NXT Champion said:
“At the moment the time was being stolen from me, I wasn’t even aware it was being stolen from me. Maybe if I knew, I would have gone up to him and been like, ‘Hey, Uncle Dwayne, what are you doing?’
I’ll let it slide this time, but next time Uncle Dwayne comes in and steals time from me, there are going to be problems.”
