13. Eric Bischoff Explains Why He’s Not A Fan Of The SummerSlam 2017 Main Event

As seen on the last episode of Raw, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle announced that Brock Lesnar will defend his Universal Title in a Fatal 4 Way match against Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman & Samoa Joe in the main event of SummerSlam 2017.

During a recent edition of Bischoff on Wrestling podcast, former WCW President Eric Bischoff explained why he’s not fan of this SummerSlam 2017 main event:

“I really am not a fan. A lot of it has to do with the reason I really don’t like gimmick matches. Often times Fatal 4-Ways, six-man tags and any other combination of multiple contestants in a match usually suggests that there’s just not a great storyline and that nobody is really rooting for anybody. At least sufficiently enough that it can stand alone as “good vs evil” or a traditional story arch. To make up for the fact that there is no compelling story involving three or more people you just throw them all in a match and call it a Fatal 4-Way. I think if there is any anticipation right now involving any of those four gentlemen it probably has to do with Brock and Samoa Joe than anybody else.

It’s the most recent storyline and I think it’s the most compelling one. I think Joe has done a phenomenal job and there is some believability with Joe. It just seems everything Joe gets near has a different element of credibility and believability to it. I’m just not a big fan of Fatal 4-Ways unless there is a hell of a great reason to do it.”
