• Old School Wrestling Legend Passes Away

We are saddened to announce that Old School Wrestling Legend “The Masked Assassin” Jody Hamilton (Real name: Joseph Hamilton) has passed away at the age of 82.

He recently entered hospice care. His son, veteran referee Nick Patrick, wrote the following about his father’s death:

“It is with heavy heart that I make this post. At 2:16 today my father took his last breath on this earth. He passed comfortably, surrounded by the people that love him. Now our attention has to shift over to taking care of my mom. I want to thank everyone that sent out prayers and support for my family. I will put more information about pop out, but right now I’m kinda numb.”

Jody Hamilton wrestled for several territories during the 50s, 60s, 70s & 80s, before a back injury forced him to retire from active professional wrestling in 1988.

As Assassin #1, he was one half of the famous old school Tag Team The Assassins aka The Masked Assassins, but over the years Jody had several partners under the mask of Assassin #2, such as Roger Smith, Tom Renesto, “Moondog Rex” Randy Colley and even Hercules Hernandez.

In 1993, Hamilton worked for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling as a heel manager for Pretty Wonderful (Paul Orndorff & Paul Roma).

In 1994, he was inducted into the short-lived WCW Hall of Fame, but he has yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, which – if it actually happens – is most likely going to happen as part of their annual Legacy Wing inductions.
