Eddie Guerrero as the WWE Champion in 2004


On this day in Pro Wrestling History in 2004, WWE No Way Out 2004 took place. In the main event bout, Eddie Guerrero defeated Brock Lesnar to win his 1st & only WWE Championship.

Also, Chavo Guerrero defeated Rey Mysterio to win the Cruiserweight Title and Kurt Angle won the right to face the WWE Champion at WrestleMania 20. Below are the results from the show:

WWE Tag Team Title Match: Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty def. The Basham Brothers and Shaniqua in an Intergender two-on-three handicap match to retain the Titles.
– Jamie Noble def. Nidia (Noble was blindfolded)
– The World’s Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas) defeated The APA (Bradshaw and Faarooq)
– Hardcore Holly def. Rhyno

Cruiserweight Title Match: Chavo Guerrero def. Rey Mysterio to win the Title.
#1 Contender’s Match For WWE Title: Kurt Angle def. John Cena & Big Show
WWE Title Match: Eddie Guerrero def. Brock Lesnar to win the Title.
