On this day in Pro Wrestling History in 2007, former WCW & ECW valet Nancy ‘Woman’ Benoit was murdered by her husband Chris Benoit. She was 43 years old.
Nancy made her in-ring debut in 1984 for Florida Championship Wrestling. She became a part of her ex-husband Kevin Sullivan’s stable “Satanists”, which also included wrestlers The Lock, Luna Vachon, The Purple Haze, and Sir Oliver Humperdink.
She made her WCW debut in 1989 as a fan of Rick Steiner. She later turned heel on Steiner and joined forces with Sullivan and became “Woman”. She also appeared on Smoky Mountain Wrestling along with Sullivan.
She made her ECW debut in 1993. She also managed The Sandman over there when Sullivan left. Nancy married Chris Benoit in 2000 and eveyone knows how things went down in June of 2007. Chris killed his son & Nancy and committed suicide two days later.
