Triple H as the World Heavyweight Champion

On this day in Pro Wrestling history in 2002, Eric Bischoff created a new World Heavyweight Title for Raw and awarded it to “The Game” Triple H.

This title was exclusive to the Raw brand as WWE Champion Brock Lesnar was signed exclusively to SmackDown, so a new World Title was needed on Raw.

Below are the results from that episode of WWE Raw:
* Bubba Ray Dudley & Trish Stratus def. Christopher Nowinski & Molly Holly
* Booker T def. William Regal
* Triple H def. Ric Flair to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
* Kane def. Christian & Lance Storm in a Handicap match.
* Big Show def. Tommy Dreamer

*Terri def. Stacy Keibler in a Lingerie Pillow Fight.
* Ric Flair & Rob Van Dam def. Chris Jericho & Triple H
