• Old School WWF Diva Celebrates Her Birthday

Old School WWF Attitude Era Diva Lita (Real name: Amy Dumas) celebrates her birthday today.

After being trained in Mexico and becoming a valet in Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling under the name “Miss Congeniality”, Lita joined the World Wrestling Federation in 2000 and instantly became the valet of Essa Rios, and later The Hardy Boyz, which led to a real life romance and relationship with Matt Hardy, that lasted for a couple of years.

During the late Attitude Era, Lita also evolved into a professional wrestler, who eventually ended up winning the WWF/E Women’s Championship on 4 occasions until her semi-retirement in 2006.

She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014 by fellow Attitude Era Diva Trish Stratus.

• Old School WWF Veteran Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the birthday of Old School WWF Veteran Crush (Real name: Brian Adams).

Crush became the 3rd member of Demolition in 1990 but stayed with the World Wrestling Federation after the team’s demise in 1991, using several gimmicks until he left in late 1997.

In early 1998 he joined Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling, where he immediately joined the famous New World Order (nWo) faction.

During his final year in WCW, as well as during his very brief WWF return, Brian Adams was put in a Tag Team with Bryan Clark (fka Adam Bomb), called KroniK.

• Old School WWF Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WWF Veteran Jimmy Jack Funk (Real name: Ferrin Barr Jr.) celebrates his birthday today.

As “Jesse Barr” he wrestled for several Old School territories, such as Championship Wrestling from Florida, World Class Championship Wrestling, Pacific Northwest Wrestling, World Wrestling Council, … among many others.

In early 1986 Barr joined the World Wrestling Federation as “Jimmy Jack Funk”, the storyline brother of Dory Funk Jr. (then known as “Hoss Funk”) & Terry Funk.

After Terry Funk & Hoss Funk had both left the WWF by the summer of 1986, Jimmy Jack was soon turned into a “Jobber To The Stars”, doing jobs to mid-carders on weekly shows such as WWF Superstars of Wrestling and WWF Wrestling Challenge.

He continued to wrestle for the promotion till June 1987 and then returned to the territories.

• Old School WrestleMania Celebrity Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WrestleMania Celebrity ‘Mr. Baseball’ Pete Rose celebrates his birthday today.

Famous Major League Baseball Legend Pete Rose appeared as a celebrity during 3 consecutive WrestleManias: WrestleMania XIV, WrestleMania XV and WrestleMania 2000.

The running gag about his appearances was, that each time he eventually ended up being attacked by “The Big Red Machine” Kane.

• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (April 14, 2010) – Old School Wrestling Legend Passed Away

On this day in 2010, we lost Old School Wrestling Legend “Big Thunder” Gene Kiniski at the age of 81 due to cancer.

Gene Kiniski wrestled for several territories during the 50s, 60s, 70s & 80s, such as the American Wrestling Association, Toronto’s Maple Leaf Wrestling, the World Wide Wrestling Federation, Calgary Stampede Wrestling, Jim Crockett Promotions, … & many, many more.

The highlights of his career were winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship (in 1966) and the AWA World Heavyweight Championship (in 1961).
