On This Day In Wrestling History – April 2, 2012

On this day in wrestling history in 2012, the Raw after WrestleMania 28 took place. This night marked the return of the “Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar to WWE programming after 8 long years. His last match in WWE at that moment was at WrestleMania 20 where he was defeated by Goldberg.

This was one of the greatest moments in the “PG Era” of WWE and his return got one of the biggest pops in WWE history as the crowd was truly electric that night. There were rumors running for a few weeks that Lesnar signed with WWE and was returning on Raw. So there were “We want Lesnar” chants from the crowd, and the crowd went nuts when he returned.

Lesnar gave an F5 to John Cena, who had lost to The Rock the previous at WrestleMania 28, and started his program with John Cena which ended with a match at Extreme Rules which Lesnar lost. You can watch his return in the above embedded video.
