• Old School WWF Veteran Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the birthday of Old School WWF Veteran Droz (Real name: Darren Drozdov).

He was first called ‘Puke’, because he could vomit on demand, as famously presented in the infamous documentary ‘Beyond the Mat’.

During his 1998-1999 WWF stint, Droz became a member of The Legion of Doom, joining Road Warrior Animal & Road Warrior Hawk.

He suffered a career-ending-injury in a match against D’Lo Brown on October 5, 1999 which made him wheelchair-bound from that point onwards until he passed away.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DROZ & REST IN PEACE!

• Old School WCW Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WCW Veteran The Minotaur (Real name: Steve DiSalvo) celebrates his birthday today.

During his professional wrestling career, “Strangler” Steve DiSalvo wrestled for many different promotions, including Calgary Stampede Wrestling (Canada), World Wrestling Council (Puerto Rico) and several U.S. independent promotions, but his biggest claim to fame was wrestling for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in 1991, performing under the name Minotaur.

The gimmick not just sounded like the 1995 WWF gimmick Mantaur (portrayed by Mike Halac), but they were both basically based on the same greek mythology character, the Greek Minotauros (or short Minotaur), half man, half bull.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MINOTAUR!

• Old School ECW Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School ECW Veteran Michael Kovac (Real name: Martin Hutter) celebrates his birthday today.

While Michael Kovac is still considered to be one of the most famous wrestlers in all of Europe, the fans here in the United States only remember him for his brief 1998 stint in Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling, where he was basically used as a Jobber to the stars.

Outside of Europe, where he first made a name for himself in Otto Wanz’s Catch Wrestling Association, Kovac also wrestled for several japanese companies over the years, most famously Battlarts in 1997, which was a (worked) shoot wrestling promotion.

He is currently signed to Qatar Pro Wrestling, where he performs occasionally among well established stars like Alberto Del Rio, The Great Khali, Carlito, Chris Masters, Rob Van Dam, … and many others.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL KOVAC!
