• Old School NWA/WWF Legend Celebrates His Birthday

Old School Wrestling Legend ‘Hoss Funk’ aka Dory Funk Jr. celebrates his birthday.

He’s a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, just like his brother Terry Funk.

Dory (as Hoss Funk) and his brother Terry also formed a Tag Team in the World Wrestling Federation in 1986, before Terry left the promotion shortly after WrestleMania 2, which resulted in Hoss Funk teaming with their kayfabe brother Jimmy Jack Funk (CWF Veteran Jesse Barr), before Dory left the WWF as well.

Together with Terry he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009 by their close personal friend “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DORY FUNK JR.!

• Old School WWF Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School World Wrestling Federation Veteran Marty Jannetty celebrates his birthday today.

Marty Jannetty used to be one half of The Rockers for years, but won his only WWF Tag Team Championship with the 1-2-3 Kid in 1994, after he already won the WWF Intercontinental Championship from his former partner “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels in 1993.

Marty wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1988 to 1994 and from 1995 to 1996 before he also had a stint in Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling (1998) and eventually returning for several brief appearances in the now renamed WWE (2005, 2006, 2007 & 2009).

He still wrestles on the independent scene these days, which makes him one of only very few 80s Veterans, who are still active in the ring.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARTY JANNETTY!

• Old School WWF Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the birthday of Old School WWF Legend ‘The Texas Tornado’ Kerry Von Erich (Real name: Kerry Adkisson).

After a great career in his father’s promotion World Class Championship Wrestling, Kerry joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1990 as “The Texas Tornado” and became the Intercontinental Champion after only a few months with the company.

Prior to his WWF run (1990-1992), Kerry Von Erich’s by far biggest accomplishment was winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship from “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair in front of over 45,000 fans at Texas Stadium in 1984.

In 2009 he, his father & his brothers were all inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, but unfortunately his brother Kevin Von Erich was the last one of them, who was still alive and there to accept the award.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY & REST IN PEACE!
