• Old School Puroresu Legend Celebrates His Birthday
Old School Japanese Wrestling Legend Genichiro Tenryu (Real name: Genichiro Shimad) celebrates his birthday today.
Most Old School WWF Fans will remember Tenryu as an entrant in both, the 1993 and the 1994 30-man Royal Rumble match.
He wrestled for 39 years, from his pro wrestling debut in 1976 until his official retirement in 2015.

• ON THIS DAY IN PRO WRESTLING HISTORY (February 2, 2023) – Old School WWF Veteran Passed Away
On this day in 2023 we lost Old School WWF Veteran ‘The Genius’ Lanny Poffo at the age of 68.
First he was known on WWF TV as “Leaping” Lanny Poffo in 1985, but later evolved into a manager called The Genius, who would also wrestle in matches from time to time, while managing the likes of Mr. Perfect & The Beverly Brothers.
He was the brother of Old School WWF/WCW Legend “The Macho Man” Randy Savage and the son of Old School Wrestling promoter Angelo Poffo.

• ON THIS DAY IN PRO WRESTLING HISTORY (February 2, 1986) – Old School Wrestling Veteran Passed Away
On this day in 1986 we lost Old School Wrestling Veteran Gino Hernandez (Real name: Charles Wolfe Jr.) at the young age of only 28 from a cocaine overdose.
Gino Hernandez used to be one of the top heels in Fritz Von Erich’s Dallas based World Class Championship Wrestling promotion.
His feud against the Von Erich’s is legendary and one of the most memorable feuds in the history of this territory.
During his WCCW days he was managed by famous old school wrestling manager Gary Hart.
