On this day in Pro Wrestling history on January 15, 1989, the World Wrestling Federation aired the ‘WWF Royal Rumble 1989’ event LIVE on PPV from the The Summit in Houston, Texas.

This was the second (televised) Royal Rumble event in WWF history, but the first ever Royal Rumble that was held on Pay-per-view.
